COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness
Her bright blue hues lurched upwards lazily, her gaze falling against the various dogs that laid before her in the ally. The medium-sized female pulled herself up on all fours, stretching out slowly before they began to move her from the shaded ally and into the starting sun. Street dogs were found all over the city, had to be cautious of the constant humans with nets. She was already running from them for three years, keeping herself from their watchful gaze. Though some dogs were not so lucky, walking off she began to move around the streets. Her ears at attention as the stray began to move off towards the city park. Not many humans traveled this early in the morning, besides those who would run. Even then the constant smooches to get her to follow them were not worthy of her time. She did not trust humans, her mother was casted out for getting herself pregnant by a stray, she was a purebred. One of the top dogs in the city, she disliked them as well. Thinking they were all high and mighty because of their DNA well cut them open and they all bleed red.
Falling in time with her footsteps she soon paused at the gate to the park, moving forward towards the fountain she leapt up on the concrete and began to take a few sips of water. Her tongue falling in and out, her mother had called her Charlie. Though by the others she was called, mutt or stray. A soft smirk came to her maw as she lifted her head from the water. Leaping into the fountain as her fur began to remove the dust and dirt from the day prior. Moving from the water she shook out her coat and began to follow the scent of her nose. Sausages... her stomach rumbled at the thought of food which was a hit or a miss. Some days she could find a good haul other days her stomach would growl into the night. Moving forward her nose continued to catch along the scent as she trotted. Stopping at an intersection where a hotdog vendor was. Looking around she snuck her way towards the area. Her mouth catching onto a string of hot dogs before she ran. The man yelled after her, even running a few short feet before she was too fast to reach his hands.
A wag of her tail was in order as she began to make her way towards the old dock. Boats racked around the area and soon she leapt upwards on a box, slipping into the abandoned building. Her gaze spotted Bailey and Dodger, "Hey boys," She started out as she dropped the sausages at their feet, "Look what I got." She could see their tails wag as they made their way over to the food. Grabbing the meat in her teeth she began to dig into her meal.

"Sage." | "Cooper." | "Tobias." Wandering through the streets, the trio made sure they were far from danger. They stayed in the shadows, making sure they would not be found by the catcher. Cooper thought himself the leader, but Tobias and Sage knew it was her. Cooper walked down the road and quickly stopped in place by the corner of a building. "Freeze! Don't move... It's not safe..." Ignoring his words, Tobias rolled his eyes and quietly trotted forth. He allowed his head to move just barely over the corner. He peered over the areas around them. It was safe. "Might you check that trusty nose of yours again, Chap?" He asked as he waddled forward. Cooper stood where he had been, trying to think of how he could be so wrong. Sage gave a soft sigh and followed Tobias. Soon Cooper raced to catch up to them and followed close behind. They wandered together and Sage finally spoke to them, "we will need to find some food soon. We could check the dumpsters on fifth avenue. Last week they had some good digs." "Hmm perhaps we should try acquiring something fresh from a vendor or other kind human?" Cooper raced up ahead of the group. "Yes! We should try and get some sausages and I know just the place! I've been drooling over their meat in the windows for days." Before they could deny his request, Cooper ran forward. He whizzed past the two in the pack and raced down the street. "Here we go again..." Sage said as she moved to race after him. She made sure not to go too fast, for little Tobias always had a tough time keeping up with them. "Come Tobias," she said sweetly as they began to run. Tobias huffed as they powered through to make it by his side. Cooper stood completely still once they found him. His eyes were set on the sight of a rather beautiful dog. She was maybe the same size as he was, not too big and not too small. Perfect. Her coat flowed with the soft breeze as she took the fresh meat from the building and moved away from them. Standing in awe of her beauty, drool started to drip from his mouth. The smallest of the crew stepped forward, "close your mouth Chap. That is rather displeasing and could be confused as stupidity. Perhaps if you did not act as a fool, you could acquire some of the meat from her." Sage nodded her head and they began to follow her. Cooper was last to move with them. But when he did, he made sure to hold his head high. When they made it to the docks, he moved to the head of the group and raised his tail. His eyes focused on her, looking to the males who had been sharing the meat with. "Hello miss, I was wondering how you got that meat. I was hoping to provide my pack with some as well."♕ Sammy ♕

COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness "Bailey." "Charlie." "Dodger."
Her gaze fell upon Dodger for a moment, his eyes managed to linger against her own, he was larger than her own form. His body was dark in color with brown against his legs, maw, and some of his chest area, though mostly it was stained white under his belly. Meanwhile Bailey was still on the large side, his coat holding a merle color as she watched the two dogs dig into their foods. Suddenly it seemed as though their hideout was discovered. She slowly rose towards her feet but Dodger was already against her side. His body merging close against her own, he growled and she rolled her piercing blue hues, "Calm down, Dodger." Bailey cackled as his brown eyes followed towards the collie looking dog, giving her a soft wink. Before turning his gaze back to Charlie as the moderate sized dog began to question if they were allowed to partake in the food.
Her tail swished behind her as she examined the trio, "Quite the pack you got here." She told the other a smirk moving towards her maw as she looked to the smaller dog. They looked almost too nice to be strays, certainly looked as if they could pass for purebred, except for the male who had spoken to the first. Dodge continued to stare down the male that was looking at Charlie, although she had not given herself fully to him; he knew that this female belonged to him. Charlie gave a small sigh, deciding to be a "good dog" and not allowing them to starve. She certainly brought enough home where they would all be able to have a hearty meal. Moving over towards the pile of sausages she gave them a pile, "If that is all you wish for... you three may go." She told the others before turning her back towards the male and his pack. She did not wish for the new dogs to try and have a fight over the meat, instead Charlie would give the others something to eat to get them out of her fur faster. Dodger's own tail began to move upwards giving him a low snarl, "Get a move on it." He snapped out.
The male who now was laying against the ground continued to stare at the female amongst the group, "Won't you come and join us," He cooed to the female before looking to the leader, "Charlie certainly this is not how we should treat our guest." He snapped and Charlie turned her blue gaze back to the three strays and then to Bailey, "Fine, stay if you wish. They are your responsibility, Bailey." She snuffed as her paws began to move her towards the loft area. Her paws pressed against the stairs as she took one step at a time. Dodger wasn't so happy about the new strangers coming into their hideout. He watched the larger male, "Keep your eyes on your own female." He barked out, "That one is mine, got it." | WORDS: 520 SHORT NOTES |
